New Year's Resolutions

Actually, make that New Years Goals - because, let's face it, how many of us even keep our resolutions? Anyway, here we go:

1. Manage my money a little better.
2. Take walks at least three times a week.
3. Keep up my apartment better.
4. Finish up my WIP fics (eight).
5. Edit at least one of my old fics every month.
6. Try to get about three chapters completed a week.*
7. Try to be more assertive, but not too agressive.

That's all for now. I'll probably think of more later.

* I probably won't be writing as much as I have last year, though - and I have eight fics that I have to finish up. Also, I might be writing some fics for a new fandom (A Series of Unfortunate Events) - but Back to the Future will probably continue to be my main fandom. I might not do a lot of writing this week, because I'm still in the middle of reading ASOUE.

Tomorrow, I'll try to tally up my stats of what all I've done last year.

Anyway, Happy New Year to everyone! Let's all try to make this a wonderful year! :)

Thought For The Day

Treat other people the same way you want to be treated.

You don't have to be religious to apply this principle in your life. Also, the Bible is not the only place the principle can be found - even though it's what I'm most familiar with.

When I mentioned this in a community, in support of the OP who mentioned something that I very strongly agreed with, I had this one user who read a little too much into my comment - and assumed that I must be a strong religious person who believes that everyone needs to follow the Bible. It wasn't my attention at all. I even mentioned that I thought a lot of Fundies were hypocrites, because they spend too much time condemning things like same-sex marriage (things that don't even hurt other people) to remember the importance of the Golden Rule. This user was appaently confused by my mention of Fundies, though.

The ironic thing is, a lot of Fundies see the concept of "live and let live" tolerance to be "wooly-headed liberal" thinking. For me, the issue is not about "conservative vs liberal" - even though I do, admittedly, lean liberal in many areas. However, some people on the liberal side are just as tolerant as certain people on the right are.

Yes, saying something like "we Christians are right, and you filthy heathens are all evil and hellbound" is definitely intolerant - but so is saying something like "you Christians are all morons who believe in dumb superstitions, and we skeptics actually know to use our brains" is just as equally intolerant. I really think there could be more tolerance from both sides.

So, yeah, if people of all religious/political persuasions would apply that principle in their lives - I think this world would be a better place.

I'll just end it with this wise piece of advice from the great Michael J Fox himself:

And don't resort to name-calling or inflammatory language or, mocking, or whatever you need to do. Just have a discussion about it, and we'll see what happens.

Harmony vs Melody

Just a little post, before I turn in for the night.

I would say I like the word "harmony" better, but I think "melody" is also a nice word. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I also used to write stories about a pair of twin girls named Harmony and Melody - and Harmony was the responsible twin.

I just recalled that was a time, though, where I used to imagine a girl who was just like me - and had a similar life to me. She wasn't Harmony - but, strangely enough, she had a rival named Harmony. Harmony was about 11, if I remember correctly - while my avatar-character was 16 or 17, one year older than I was at the time. Harmony does eventually reform herself, but she starts out as this girl who picks on everyone. Basically, this is in a Christian boarding school setting - and there are two girls in each grade. I never really got much of them down on paper, simply because I wasn't really allowed much leasure time.

There there were two singers that I went through periods of time on liking - and, at some point, I gave each of them a girlfriend named Harmony. One of them had a twin sister, Melody. At one time, I even fantasized about marrying one of them - and having a daughter named Harmony.

Of course, in my current ficverse, I have an OC named Harmony Brown - who was Marty McFly Jr's best friend, and then later becomes his girlfriend. In the Trilogy Universe, she has a younger sister named Melody - who isn't mentioned as much. In the Haven Universe, her younger sister is named Jamie - but that's because the McFly's third kid was born a few months before that. This was actually because I collaborated with another ficcer who created the characters of Melody McFly and Jamie Brown - so it's entirely a coincidence that we both had a Melody character.

Now, back when I was real little - when I was nine and ten - I had an imaginary friend named Melody. Not only that, but I sometimes would pretend that I was Melody. I don't remember exactly as to how I came to name her as Melody, and it was a long time ago. I didn't have an imaginary friend named Harmony, though.

For some reason, Melody has always seemed to be more popular as a girl's name - but it looks like the name Harmony is starting to become more popular with girls. Haven is really starting to catch on as a girl's name, too - but it's still not as common.

Anyway, I'd better hit the sack, now! :)

Just a few thoughts to ponder....

I guess I do tend to have pretty strong opinions, when it comes to certain aspects of the BTTF trilogy. Like, the other day, I mentioned why I feel very strongly about envisioning 17-year-old Marty looking the way he did in the first film, as opposed to the sequels. Another issue I have strong feeling about is that I don't like the idea of Doc and Marty being separated, and I also like the idea Jules and Verne being '80s - which is, admittedly, feuled by my own nostalgic about the decade. Then I also like the idea of Marty being able to have more adventures through time. I only recently started including Jules and Verne a little more in my stories.

Okay, anyway, here's three things I was pondering over:

The Memory Issue!

Yeah, that's another thing I have strong opinions about - and though I can understand where the concept of dual memories can be pretty complex. I was thinking about that earlier today, when I wrote Jamie's Conflict. One would think that Marty would have a tough enough time adjusting to a new - albeit improved - family. I'm also of the school of thought that Marty didn't have the "chicken" problem in the TP Timeline. Still, in spite of all that, a lot of eveything else has pretty much stayed the same for Marty.

The changes for Jamie are a bit more drastic. She's a misfit in the pre-crisis timeline, and a relatively popular girl in the post-crisis timeline. As a result, it sometimes seems like there are two versions of her occupying the same body, if that makes any sense. I am also of the school of thought that the memories of the current timeline are the strongest and clearest, while those of the previous timeline seem more hazy - but, yet, they never completely disappear.

As for what happens to LP Marty upon arriving to 1955, he does turn into TP Marty upon arriving into 1955. I'll admit that the major reason why I'm in favour of that theory is that, if LP Marty retained his LP memories in 1955, it would mess up the events of the first movie. Granted, the events of the second movie messes up the events from November 12 of the first movie a little bit. Upon returning to 1985, though, TP Marty and LP Marty are eventually fused together.

In A Day of Cosmic Significance, though, I've been very mindful to keep the events of the day for George, Lorraine, Marty One, and Doc '55 as undisturbed as possible. Of course, the events for Biff was changed the most drastically - because of him receiving the almanac from his older self, and then Marty Two trying to take the almanac away from him. Doc '55 unknowingly had a brief conversation with his older self, and then passed out after being geeted by Marty Two. Marty One thought he heard someone agreeing with him about "wanting [Lorraine's statement] in writing", but didn't much about it - because he had other stuff on his mind. Then he also pauses briefly to look at the unconscious gang members, and then runs out the door slightly faster. For George and Lorraine, nothing really changed.

Freaks and Geeks

A common fan theory seems to be that Doc Brown is regarded as Lunatic Brown ny virtually all of Hill Valley, but I've softened that considerably in my universe. I guess a lot of it has to do with how I've grown fond of Hill Valley, so I'd like to think that a sizeable portion of the Hill Valley residents would be tolerant and accepting. Of course, he also taught third grade for many years - and the kids in his class generally loved him.

As for George, he basically just had two close friends - but he had friendly acquaintences. He was never close to Lorraine before the night of the dance, but Lorraine never actively disliked him. She just simply had her own friends, and was wrapped up with her crowd.

Then there's Marty. I have to admit that it does bug me, when some people make Marty out to be a misfit. I just think he's too cute, too nice, and too sweet to be a misfit. I can easily imagine him being friendly to the misfits in his school, but not being a misfit himself. I guess the reason why it bugs me that some people think Marty is a misfit is because... well, I guess it all come down to this: I just don't like people not liking Michael J Fox! Besides, if anything, I think Alex P Keaton would be the one more likely to be a misfit - as he doesn't have your typical teenage-y interests. Like, for example, he prefers swing to rock and roll. Still, I don't think even Alex P Keaton is a misfit - and the girls do seem to have a thing for him.

Michael J Fox of BTTF

This issue I'm more borderline on. I personally am in favour of Michael J Fox co-existing with Marty McFly in the BTTF Universe, but I can also see some good argument for the other side, as well. In fact, when I first started writing Altered Identities, I wrote it as though Michael J Fox was non-existent in the BTTF Universe - and then I eventually decided against it.

An alternate theory that's been suggested is Matthew Broderick in the role of Alex P Keaton - but the problem with that theory is, there is a reason why Matthew Broderick turned down that role. Besides, what about all his works during the years of Family Ties?

Then there's also the theory of Eric Stoltz having all of MJF's roles - but the problem with that is, if he had all of MJF's roles and all of his own roles, then he'd simply be a very busy man.

Then there's also the theory that it's another actor that doesn't exist in "our" universe - or else, Michael J Fox does exist but looks different. I know looks aren't everything, but part of his charm is in the way he looks - and that's why I love him so much.

In all fairness, I suppose the existence of MJF really could complicate things in Light of Day, Life With Mikey, and The Hard Way - where Michael plays actors who are celebrities. Even in The Secret of My Success, Brantley Foster leaves his hometown to persue a career in New York, and it's not like everyone is stopping him to say that he looks like Michael J Fox. Still, there are ways to work around that.

Just something I need to get off my chest...

Okay, I don't want anyone who reads and disagrees with me to take offence to this - but I just need to get a little something off my chest. Anyway, here goes...

For some reason, it just bugs me that some people prefer the way Marty looked and sounded in the sequels, as opposed to the way Marty looked and sounded in Part One. Let me run off the reasons why I tend to feel strongly on this subject.

1. The Marty in Part One was much cuter - and acted more like, well, like Michael J Fox. I thought Marty just seem too serious and dark in the sequels.

Well, he does. The usual Michael J Fox ticks are definitely there in Part One, but not so much in the sequels. Compare Part One Marty McFly with Alex P Keaton of Family Ties. They do hold different ideologies, and have differences in personalities. Marty loves rock music, Alex not so much. Alex loves school and aconomics, Marty not so much. Yeah, in spite of all the differences - in many ways, they have a lot of the same trademarked Michael J Fox ticks. So, even if I may disagree with Alex on many issues - he manages to act so charming, you can't but love him and forgive him his flaws. In the sequels, though, Marty seems too serious and a bit angrier. He seems seems so diffeent from what you'd usually expect from the characters Michael J Fox plays.

2. It was the original, the way Marty looked in the movie is the way he was intended to look. It's not like Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale planned to make Marty look older in the sequels - nature simply cause Michael to grow a little older.

Well, yeah, and that's also why I prefer Claudia Wells over Elisabeth Shue - even though I do also think Claudia is the prettier Jennifer. Doc's reaction to Marty asking if he and Jennifer become *jerks* in the future was different at the beginning of Part Two, and the Bobs did make a conscious decision to have Doc react differently for a particular reason - so, because of that, that's the official version in my personal canon. Lorraine saying "that was very interesting music" differently is a little more borderline, but I don't think that difference was exactly intentional. The Bobs simply re-filmed the scene (among others), because they needed a different camera angle. So, with any conflicting differences between the frist two films, I simply tend to default to the first film - unless the difference was intentional (like Doc's reaction to Marty's question). Marty looking older and Elisabeth Shue replacing Claudia Wells as Jennifer were two things that the Bobs couldn't really help.

3. Thus, in the sequels, Marty looked too old to be 17 - and he looked more like a teenager in Part One, even though Michael was really 23.

Yeah, and that's probably what bugs me the most. I don't have a problem with 21-year-old Marty McFly looking and sounding like Part Two Marty, or 22-year-old Marty McFly looking and sounding like Part Three Marty. I just don't like the idea of 17-year-old Marty McFly looking and sounding like Part Two/Three Marty. Michael's other break-out character, Alex P Keaton, was already three years older than Marty in 1985 - so, by 1989, Alex P Keaton would be seven years older that 1985 Marty McFly. Basically, it would throw everything out of alignment to have 1985 Marty look like Part Two/Three Marty. Granted, Michael J Fox has played other characters from other time periods - but that's a bit different.

BTW, this is not a slam on Michael J Fox! I really adore him a lot - and, on its own merits, I think Michael looked great in the sequels. It's just that he looked too old to play a teenager. People who know me probably know well be now that I hold strong opinions on things like the "memory" issue and the idea of Doc moving his family back to 1985 - but, even then, I can understand the rationale a bit better (even if I may not exactly agree).

Anyway, this was just bugging me a bit - so that's that. Now off to do some more fic writing.

What is it about the word "harmony"?

I know, I've been going through this whole "harmony" craze the past few days - and I've been spending of time at YouTube watching the video clip, just so I can hear Michael say the word "harmony". Now, why do I like that word so much? It's pretty much been my favourite word for nearly twenty years, now - and I'm now thirty. So I've actually liked that word since I was a little girl. I've gone through periods of times of liking other words, but I always go back to really liking the word "harmony".

Well, let's see, I really like the way the word sounds. It's a beautiful word, and I really like the way the word rolls off your tongue. In recent years, I've come to really gain an appreciation of what the word means, as well. I think it'd be wonderful if all the politicians of this world could put aside their different, so that we can have global harmony. It's a wonderful thing that more of us should strive for.

Of course, harmony is also a word that's often associated with music - and I happen to be a huge music lover. Rhythm, melody, and harmony are the three concepts that make up music. So it's just really a great thing to have in music, as well.

I really like Harmony as a girl's name, as well - so, along with Calvin McFly from the Twins Universe, Harmony Brown is my favourite original character from my fanfic stories. I tend to characterize her as a sweet and friendly girl, who does her best to live up to her name.

When I was about 12, I started writing stories about a pair of twin girls named Harmony and Melody - which was inspired by the Sweet Valley Twins series. Harmony was the Elizabeth-type character, while Melody was a little more like Jessica. I never really got that far with my writing, but I came up with all different stories about them in my head.

When I was into Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I was a little into the Harmony Kendall character - even though she was very much of a snob, and didn't really do much to live up to her name. I do tend to wonder why Joss Whedon decided to call that snobbish Cordette - a friend of Cordelia Chase - Harmony. I guess he was somewhat fond of such contradictions.

Anyway, I just love saying that word - and I also love hear that word. Now I especially love hearing Michael J Fox say that word. He's got a lovely voice, so to hear that word coming from him makes it sound even more special. I no longer have to speculate over what it would sound like to hear him say that word, because now I actually did get to hear him say it.

Yeah, it sounds kind of silly - but within all these years that I've loved that word, I've always wanted to hear certain people say that word. Some I finally did get to hear, and others I never did. I still never got to hear Robert Plant say the word "harmony" - that word was never sung in a Led Zeppelin song, and I also don't think Robert sang that word in any of his solo stuff - even though I did get to hear Jimmy Page say it about once or twice.

Anyway, I did manage to get two of the five ficlets uploaded today. I'll try to get the remaining three up tomorrow, and then only my major fics.

Yay! I finally get to hear Michael J Fox say "harmony"! :)

I know this might sound kind of silly, but "harmony" happens to be one of my favourite words - and, for the longest time, I was wanting to hear Michael J Fox say that word. Someone at YouTube suggested that he might've said that word in Stuart Little. So I watched the movie, and no dice. Ditto the sequels.

When I watched Atlantis: The Lost Empire, I kind of thought Michael was saying that word - but I was uncertain, because it didn't seem to fit in context. So I turned on the subtitles, and it turned out it was "pardon me" that he was saying.

Anyway, a friend at YouTube directed me to this video the other day - and, bingo! He does, in fact and unmistakingly, say that word! I was so giddy with excitement, I kept watching that video over and over again.

BTW, if anyone knows of any other instances where Michael says that word - let me know, okay? Now, per my comment to icepiegon23, I'd better get back to working on my fanfic. That video just made my day, though. Love it! Love it! Love it!

I'm going to dedicated tomorrow to as much writing as possible.

I did get a little bit of writing done this month, but I have yet to get a chapter uploaded at FanFiction.Net this month. This Monday is icepiegon23's birthday, so I want to get the story up about where Griff takes advantage of both Melody and Jamie. The biggest challenge will writing the story to make it not too graphic - but I'm afraid I'll have to increase the rating of Haven Universe Chronicles from a K+ to a T. After this month, I'll have four ficlets in the Haven Universe Chronicles collection and the Family or Foe collection.

Now that I'm done with NaNoWriMo, I checked to see if there were any similar challenges - and here's what was listed:

~~Script Frenzy - NaNoWriMo's sister challenge (April). Goal: Write a 100-page screenplay or stage play in April.~~ Not for me! I write prose, not script.

NaNoFiMo.org - National Novel Finishing Month (December). Goal: 30,000 words. I think Almost Christmas can fit the challenge.

JaNoWriMo - January Novel Writing Month (January). Goal: 50,000 words, or whatever goal you set. I'm going to spend this month working on my WIP fics. Fortunately, I don't have to start a new fic for this challenge - and two novels are okay - so I can work on two existing ones. One could be A Ticket to the Movies, which will have twenty chapters (I started working on Chapter Six) - and the other one could be Time Travel Heroes, which will probably have 14 or fifteen chapers (three chapters are completed). So this will give me some motivation to finish up two of my WIP fics.

~~FAWM - February Album Writing Month (February). Goal: Write 14 original songs in a month.~~ Not a songwriter, so this one's not for me.

NaNoEdMo - National Novel Editing Month (March). Goal: Commit to 50 hours of novel editing. Some of my earlier stories really could use some editing, so I can partake in this one.

JulNoWriMo - July Novel Writing Month (July). Goal: 50,000 words for a new or unfinished manuscript. This one's a long ways away, so I'm not sure if I'll have every story currently planned finished by then, or not.

~~24 Hour Comics Day - (Changes annually, lasts 24 hours). Goal: Draw a 24-page comic in one 24-hour period.~~ I'm not an artist, so this isn't for me.

~~48 Hour Film Project - (Varies; operates via tours around the USA, lasts 48 hours). Goal: Create a short film in 48 hours.~~ I'm not a filmmaker either, so this isn't for me.

~~Book in a Week - (Begins on the Monday of the first full week of each month, lasts one week). Goal: Write a novel.~~ Would be a good motivator to keep on task - but, unfortunately, a fee is required to join.

~~Mad Challenge - (Varies). Goal: Complete a variety of point challenges issued by moderators, including writing 10,000 in 5 hours.~~ I'm already a member of backtothefanfic, where challenges are usually issued every month. While I do like a good challenge, I also need time to work on all the stories I have planned - so I'll pass on this one.

April Fool's - (April). Goal: Set a word-count goal for yourself and fulfill it by the end of the month. Now here's an awesome challenge. Even schoolwork can count towards your word-count goal - which I don't have, as I've long been out of school. This one will be a great motivator.

~~3-Day Novel Contest - (August 30-September 1). Goal: Write a novel in three days.~~ I'll pass on this one. You need a hefty fee to join, and I can't write a whole novel in that short period of time.

~~NaPlWriMo - National Playwriting Month (November). Goal: Write a play in one month.~~ I'm not a playwriter, so this isn't for me.

~~NaNoMangO - The artist's alternative to NaNoWriMo (November). Goal: Draw 30 pages of sequential art in one month.~~ I'm a writer, not an artist - so I'll just stick to NaNoWriMo in November.

AugNoWriMo - August Novel Writing Month (August). Goal: Write a novel in one month. This one I can do. You set your own goal, and WIP fics are allowed.

~~NaNoPubYe - National Novel Publishing Year (Year-Round). Goal: Get that NaNoWriMo novel ready for publication!~~ I don't think you're allowed to publish fanfic, because of all the copyright issues and such.

While George and Lorraine are finally beginning to enjoy themselves at the dance, Dixon cuts in - which causes Marty himself to be "erased from existence". In a virtuosic display of uncharacteristic self-restraint, Marty decides not to race Needles, and avoids crashing into a Rolls Royce, thus erasing his unsuccessful future. Jennifer surprises Marty with a fax she retrieved from 2015 in that very timeline, and as it "ripples" into a blank sheet of paper, she discovers the hidden truth about time travel, exclaiming: "It erased!" Marty takes her to see the remains of the DeLorean. Doc, Clara and their sons arrive at Marty’s crash site in their time locomotive to briefly check up on Marty and Jennifer, and to retrieve Doc's dog, Einstein. Jennifer and Marty show Doc the blank fax, and he dispenses some sound advice about its significance. The Brown family departs back to 1893 to wait for two months. (Trilogy and Haven Universes)

After the hover board chase which ensues, only Griff and his gang are arrested for damaging the courthouse. At some point Marty acquires a Grey’s Sports Almanac with the intention of using it to his advantage once he returns to his own decade. Old Biff, who has been waiting for this opportunity for three decades, steals the DeLorean and heads back to 1955 with Marty’s sports almanac - which Doc angrily threw into a convenient trash receptacle. Biff returns the DeLorean to 2015 shortly thereafter, without Doc and Marty immediately noticing. Biff fades from existence, after having been murdered by Lorraine. My two major novellas for the monh will include The New Boy In Town and Almost Christmas.

I also have four ficlets to write: The Ungers of 2006 (Family or Foe), The Tannen of 2016 (Family or Foe), The O'Malleys/Noguras of 2016 (Family or Foe), and The Tannens of 2046 (Haven Universe Chronicles).

I've also decided to start working on a timeline. This is going to be tough to do, because not only do I have 12 universes to take into consideration - there are also the events from my stories that lead to changes in the timeline.

Here are all my universes:
Trilogy Universe (This is my main one, based entirely on the movies.)
Haven Universe (This is also trilogy compliant - but changes made to the timeline causes Marlene to have a different appearance, as well as the addition of Melody.)
Twins Universe (Marty is indirectly responsible for the existence of his twin brother.)
Almanac Universe (Hell Valley Marty, Doc, and Sabrina end up wih doubles in the new timeline - after they manage to grab the almanac from Biff.)
Twin Pines Universe (Marty and Doc are both shot by Libyan terrorists, but are brought back to life a few months later.)
Lone Pine Universe (Marty Jr gets his hands on Doc's time machine, and ends up back in 1985.)
Newlyweds Universe (Doc and Clara manage to make it back to 1985 with Marty, in the DeLorean. Also includes the Marty Wept AU fic.)
Parker Universe (Jennifer joins Marty on his adventures, and ends up bringing Clara Parker back to 1985.)
Gravestone Universe (This universe is based on the similar pemise of the Almanac Universe. Even though Alternate Doc is dead in 1885, Gravestone Doc claims to be the ressurrection of the other Doc - as he and Clara fall for each other in the Old West.)
Calvin Universe (Marty is renamed Calvin, while his older brother is Marty. Probably not going to elaborate too much on this universe.)
Father Universe (Marty gets amnesia in 1955, falls for Lorraine, and becomes his own father. This is probably the most controversial universe I wrote.)
Orwell Universe (I might as well include this one, too. In this one, George and Lorraine don't meet until 1986 - when a mysterious young man claims to be their son. This is based on George Orwell's 1984. I will pick up on Let Freedom Ring again sometime next year.)

Okay, now before I do anything else, I have to make some alterations to my fics.

1. Make a reference to Andy Hopkins in he Next Generation Part I. I also have to change the date of Jamie's birthday, as the one I picked is too long to occur after the conception on November 12 of the previous year.
2. Go through A Witch In Time, and make any necessary alterations - so that the story can also apply to Haven Universe. I still want anivad to keep the fic under Trilogy Universe, though.
3. I also have a write a scene introducing the good relative of the gang members.

For the O'Malley's/Noguras, here's a brief rundown of what I think I'll be doing.
* 24-year-old Nicole O'Malley is married, and has at least one child.
* 29-year-old Kimberly O'Malley is also married, and has at least one child.
* 19-year-old Chester Nogura and 19-year-old Leslie O'Malley are engaged to be married.
* 30-year-old Bruce Nogura is married, and has at least one child.
* The Christmas party is arranged by the grandparents of Charlie Nogura and Catherine Larson. Charlie's mother and Catherine's mother became stepsisters at 12. They gained a half-sister at 14. At a glance, it may seem like there's a lot of inbreeding in the family - but, technically, there isn't. The grandparents are all loving. They live in Elmdale, a half-hour drive from Hill Valley. Charlie and Catherine moved to Hill Valley in 1972.
* Outside of the offspring of Charlie and Catherine, the rest of the family is pretty decent.

Now my plans for the Ungers get together.
* Not only is this a sequel of sorts to The Ungers Thanksgiving of 1997, but this also "the other epilogue" to The Prized Time Capsule.
* Our protagonists are all married: Rex Unger to Bridget Meyer, Ron Unger and Bethany Logan, Rita Unger and Bobby Winterson, Rose Unger and Stuart Stebbs. Stuart's older bother, Steven, is the father of Stephanie and Stacy - who will play little to no role in the Trilogy and Haven Universes. That's the reason why I have the girls attending a private school.
* Each of the couples have at least one kid - thus, giving them more motivation to attend. Maybe Rex and Ron each have a son who looks like - so Rex's son becomes the father to Roxas and Ruby, while Ron's son becomes the father to Riley and Rebecca.
* Roll will probably be deceased by 2007. Ian and Betty Winterson still show up. Clara and Carla are now 21, while Tina Marie is 13. Tina Marie is a good friend of Roberta and Amy Needles.

That's it for now! I'll have to figure out the Tannens later. I guess this would include some of the Canatas, too.

This Month

Double Trouble: I have to try to get NaNoWriMo completed, which I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do. At the very least, I should be able to crack the 50,000 words goal - which I should be able to do by Chapter 28. I would like to try to get all 30 chapters completed, though.

The New Boy In Town: Initially, I had planned to write the story this month - it's the third of the "other side" trilogy - but then I had to push that up a month (because of my NaNoWriMo fic). So I'll probably write this story, before I start on the Christmas one. 10 chapters

Almost Christmas: Marty Jr and Marlene wish for everyday to be Christmas. The spell malfunctions, though - and Marty Jr and Marlene relive Christmas Eve instead. 20 chapters

January

The only new stories I would probably be doing in January would be the monthly challenges. Otherwise, I'll be using this month to catch up with my other WIP fics.

Time Travel Heroes: BTTF/TAT crossover. Three chapters have been finished. Will probably have 14 chapters.

Bill and Ted's Shocking Expedition: BTTF/B&T crossover. Three chapters have been finished. Will probably have 14 chapters.

A Ticket to the Movies: Julia Rundgren from real world enters BTTF Universe. Five chapters have been finished. Will probably have 20 chapters.

Reality Escape: BTTF/FT/HSUSA crossover. Three chapters have been finished. Will probably have six chapters.

Back to the Beginning: Doc and Marty in 1855. Four chapters have been finished. Will probably have eight to ten chapters.

Jus a few updates...

Well, I have five partial chapters for my NaNoWrMi fic. I decided that, even though I will still definitely write The New Boy In Town - I decide to just do away with my self-imposed goal of getting it done in November. Anyway, I wasn't even aware of NaNoWroMo at the time I came up with those ideas.

Over at the backtothefanfic community, icepiegon23 had proposed some monthly challenges for next month - and geno0823 had proposed an alternate one. The former had suggested three challenges pertaining to the Tannens, Ungers, and O'Malleys in 2046. I have to admit that I'm a little uneasy about writing fics that focus on very minor characters - even though the Tannens aren't so minor, and I can use Stephanie Tannen as the main character. She's also a descendant of Doc, and had a minor appearance in Thankful To Be Alive.

The story about the Ungers and the O'Malleys, I'll see if I can make them multi-universe. Then again, as some of them are friends wih the decendants of Doc and Marty, it'll probably be easier to make it Haven Universe. Will and Stephanie Tannen would still exist (Jamie Brown from Haven Universe is the counterpart of Melody Brown from Trilogy Universe), as would Marty III - but the others wouldn't. The only one who would exist in all the other universes would be Marty III - and even that one is disputable, as he would have a different mother. Of course, Marty III would look just like Michael J Fox in all the universes - and they'd all probably have very similar personalities, and probably end up being an actor.

I already have a Christmas fic planned, though, where Marty Jr and Marlene get stuck in a time warp - and that will probablt take place in the Trilogy Universe.

As for the challenge proposed by the latter, I'm not going to completely rule out the idea - but it's probably one I best not touch. Believe it or not, I do still believe in the Bible story of Jesus Christ's birth. My views lean towards Integrational Polytheism, and I am interested in the supernatual - so it's like fitting pieces of the puzzle together for me. Is Jesus a messiah, a prophet, or something else? That I'm not too sure of. I do think he was something higher than just a regular mortal, though - and I do believe he performed miracles.

On a side note, with the other date Doc had mentioned (the US Declaration of Independence) - MJF's other major character, Alex P Keaton, did go back to that day (albeit in a dream). I'm not sure if this was simply a coincidence, or if it was planned. I think that episode was filmed at the same time as MJF was on the BTTF set - so maybe the Bobs inspired Gary David Goldberg, or vice versa. I'll have to see that episode, when it comes out next year.

Now I have to stop slacking and get back to NaNoWriMo. :)

At least I did start making some progress with the Ungers Thanksgiving Fic, and I'll try to finish that tomorrow morning. Then I should get back to NaNoWriMo.

Now, to plan of the rest of that story:

21. Marty Sr and Calvin take their sons' place, as Marty Jr and Alex leave to run an errand.
22. As Marty Jr and Alex enter the Courthouse Square, a still sedated Doc captures them.
23. Marty Jr and Alex end up 1986, and The Pinheads show up. Doc needs to fix the time machine.
24. Marty Sr and Calvin wonder where the kids are.
25. Jennifer is a bit antsy, and then meet up with Marty Sr and Calvin.
26. Marty Jr takes his father's place, as The Pinheads perform a concert.
27. Marty Sr and Calvin are forced to keep their sons' promise of a double date to Stephanie and Stacy.
28. After the concert, Marty Jr and Alex are relieved that Doc fixed the time machine
29. Doc brings Marty Jr and Alex back to 2016 - and then he picks up Marty Sr, Calvin, and Jennifer.
30. Marty, Calvin, and Jennifer are finally back in 1986.

Belle's gang confronts our group outside of Psychedelic Pstand.

"So Caleb Wilson owns Psychedelic Pstand, eh?" Harmony asked, as the group was leaving the restaurant. "I just heard that this place used to be the Cafe '80s about thirty years ago - and, back then, it was owned by Lou Carruthers III. I just heard that the Carruthers have been the owners of that building ever since the 1880s."

Marty Jr himself was amazed. Lou Carruthers I's daughter, Sarah, had married Goldie Wilson I - while his son, Lou Carruthers Jr, took over that building. He quite ended up changing that building from a cafe to an aerobics studeo. He just found that out from his trip back to 1986. It was rather strange of think of how the years have changed.

"Hey, Nelson!" called out a real menacing girl's voice. Marty Jr turned around to see a tough girl grabbing at Melody. "What do you think you're doing here? I sure thought I told you that I never wanted to see you around these parts of town again!"

"Hey, I think you're messing with the wrong girl!" shouted Melody. In a calmer voice, she added, "I rather happen to have a lot of self-respect and self-confidence, unlike you! You may think you're a tough one - but, in reality, you're just a pathetic loser!"

Marty Jr watched on, as his younger sister kicked the girl - and then pushed her into her gang. She just ran across the steet, and then she grabbed a hoverboard from a little girl who looked to be about eight or nine. The gang then ran after Melody.

"It's sure hilarious that Belle mistook Claudia for me," Suzy commented, laughing. "I really should've shown myself to her. Seeing two of me might have simply put them into a state of shock. You'd think these bullies would learn to give up. One of these days, I'll show them that I really am someone! One day, I really will kick her ass!"

"I think your cousin is sure doing a fine job of that," commented Tom, laughing. "The two of you do have quite a lot in common. Anyway, Sarah and Heidi said that they'd be coming here soon. We could all maybe head to the waterpark, or something."

"It's quite amazing," Marty III commented, dreamily. "The waterpark has been here for nearly fifty years. It's neat to think of how much the town has grown. Hill Valley had been established just over 190 years ago. Grandpa Marty's really done a great job placing this city on the map - and Great-Grandpa Emmett Brown did, as well."

Marty Jr suddenly heard a great crash. He looked up, to see that the gang were all quite covered with manure. Melody quickly handed the hoverboard back to the girl, and then she ran back to join the crowd. Marty Jr felt proud of his younger sister.

"I hate manure!" cried out Belle, as Marty Jr and the rest of the crowd were heading into the Courthouse Mall. Marty Jr sure was laughing quite hard - as he drew Melody close to him, and gently gave her a squeeze. He then glanced around the mall.

"It's so sad to see how Libby turned out," Tom commented, shaking his head. "Rasha Unger, Michelle Dixon, and Britney Canata are quite as bad as their brothers. Hayley was always close to her twin brother. It sure is funny how Josh and Hayley resemble their parents, Chester Nogura and Lesley O'Malley - both really were in Griff's gang."

"That's really not the only thing they have in common," Will replied, snickering. "They both rather share a half-brother, Bruce Nogura. Chester's father and Leslie's mother were, at one point, married - and then they both divorced, and then later married."

Ziff's gang storms into Psychedelic Pstand

As Marty Jr was glancing through the menu for desserts, he figured the strawberry shortcake really looked great. He was thinking of how surreal this whole experience was. Just then, a gang of real tough-looking teens stormed in - and he noticed that the group leader looked a lot like Griff Tannen. Marty Jr had a rather bad feeling.

"Hey, McFly!" called out the boy who looked a lot like Griff Tannen. "I thought I told you never to come in here!" Marty Jr sighed to himself. He just wondered for about how how many generations the Tannens actually felt the need to harass a McFly.

"Ziff, don't ever ever give up?" Marty III asked, rolling his eyes. "You can't order me around like this. I have eleven friends to back me up, while you only have five!"

Ziff was about to swing his bat at the table, when an African-American man grabbed him by the arms and began to drag him into a room. His gang quickly ran out.

"This group actually had six members," Melody observed, stunned. "What is that man going to do to Ziff? I really hope Ziff does this world a favour and doesn't breed!"

"Don't count on it," Marty III replied, grimacing. "It goes at least as far back as Buford and great-great-great-great-grandfather Seamus. It certainly is obsessive, isn't it?"

"One of them's my brother, Chuck," Tom pointed out, grimacing. "He just takes after Grandpa Doug. The other ones include Ross Unger, Manuel Dixon, Bertrand Canata, and Josh O'Malley. They each also have a sister who is as dreadful as themselves."

Marty Jr began to ponder over everything Tom just told him. "Grandpa Doug" would be the bully who harassed really his father in high school. He then figured that Ross Unger would the son of Rafe, also known as "Data", who was part of Griff's gang.

"The sisters also form a gang," added Tom, quietly. "One of them is my sister, Libby. Her twin sister, Sarah, really is much nicer. It's strange to think that Libby and Sarah used to be so close. I myself used to be very close to Chuck. It's sad how Sarah and yours truly have been estranged from our respective twins. This just isn't very fair."

"The man's name is Caleb Wilson," Suzy added. "He's the son of Goldie Wilson III. I'm also curious about what he plans to Ziff. As far as I'm concerned, Ziff sure needs the fear of God to be beaten into him. He has always been nothing but trouble."

"He really disgraces the Tannen family name," Stephanie added, making a face. "Of course, as Norman said, the bullying tradition really goes all the way back to Buford Tannen. I would just love to see the nasty Tannen lineage actually stop with Ziff."

"Hi, everyone," Caleb Wilson said, as he returned to the table. "I called the police on Ziff. He and his gang will no longer be allowed to enter this restaurant. I really wish I had thought to do this much sooner. Anyway, are you boys ready for dessert?"

"I'll have a strawberry shortcake," Marty Jr replied, as he flashed Caleb a lopsided smile. "I was wondering if I could have some extra whipped cream on it.
